Don't Call Them Paints...

The main product line of AST is a line of non-skid epoxy coatings (don't call them paints). These products were developed for military use back in the late 1930's - early 40's for use on aircraft carrier decks. They worked so well and proved to be so tough that they were soon adopted by industry for use in critically slippery areas.

Due to their formulation for the military the coatings last forever and perform like crazy. They have been the premium product in a very sleepy industrial category for decades.

Rounding out the AST line is a collection of "High Performance Coating and Decorative Flooring Systems". These are floor toppings that can be applied over concrete, steel and the like for a decorative floor.

Along with these products AST supplies many of the tools needed to apply them. They also have their own line of primer/sealers to be used for additional grip strength when applying the various products to bare surfaces.

The F-14 Tomcats that smash onto the surface of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers in what is so appropiately called a "controlled crash", are ruthless on the flight deck coatings.
